A rethink of an existing structure on an oceanside estate on the island of Maui in Hawaii. An old 70’s design that can’t be torn down as nothing can be built in it’s place due to shoreline setback rules. Design goals were to open up the way it is approached and inhabited in order to better take advantage of it’s spectacular location.
