SKEMP DESIGN is Carter Skemp.
I am a designer, builder, and teacher. My undergraduate degree is in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and my graduate degree is in architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. I also have 15 years of residential construction experience.
My design practice primarily focuses on small scale architectural design. I also often build what I design myself. This direct relationship between design and building is what I enjoy most.

Creativity is a big mixing bowl with a hole in the bottom. If one is not continously putting sites, sounds, thoughts, and observations in the bowl, the bowl will empty.
